What is Meditation?

Meditation originated at the very inception of human culture. Meditation is a practice, capable enough to influence a person physically, mentally and spiritually. “Mindfulness” is a technique practised in Yogic culture. In this method, a person focuses their mind on objects or thoughts. Why do we consider practising meditation?

A person’s mind can be in crippling pandemonium or cloaked in transcends of serenity. From lifestyle to social interactions, anything can influence a human mind. If there’s a whirlwind travelling hither and thither inside anyone’s mind, it drastically exhausts the body as well. Benefits of Meditation –

Meditation gives closure and with closure comes peace. A daily travelling of meditation is advised to tame the overpowering thoughts, and mould them in a more compact and positive shroud. It helps to break the vicious cycle of despair. There are various scientifically proven facts to support it. They are:

  • Meditation positively influences blood circulation.
  • An average resting heart rate of an adult ranges between 60-100. But, with constant work-pressure heart rate gets affected drastically. Meditating keeps heart rate within the range.

  • This method helps to keep the respiratory system healthy.
  • Meditation helps to keep the blood cortisol levels low.
